Name

The Slack brand name is trademarked, so please handle with care (just like our logo). We’ve got a few rules to help you do this:
  • Use Slack as an adjective to describe our services, as in “Slack messages”
  • It’s also acceptable to use Slack as a noun, but only when referring to the app or company
  • Slacks are pants—which is why Slack should not be made plural or possessive
  • Sorry, no Slackers here; please don’t use Slack as a verb, or create words that include our brand name
While people are free to make up whatever word they want to describe Slack or the people who use it, we don’t claim any of these as official terms.
